Full roof replacement to a penthouse suite, along with the installation of new heritage velux windows and horizontal valley gutter linings.
We re-used the existing slates with great effect. The salvage rate on the existing slates was poor, however we were able to find very closely matching slates at the reclamation yard for a seamless blend. To the horizontal valley gutters we used a modern single ply membrane to meet the planning constraints - the old linings were lead but the client needed to save funds and we were able to accommodate this with the single ply membrane. The client required a hot tub on the roof terrace and this was sited on the large steels running directly through the pitched roof, a tricky detail but nothing that our lead men couldn’t handle. Another project handed over successfully.
