Initially we carried out a full survey and provided a full roof condition report for the client to consider their options including full roof replacement to include the horizontal valley gutters and all lead flashings and valleys.
We offered the client a cost effective solution to making up the quantity of the unsalvageable stone slates, without compromising the look of the finished product.
The existing stone slates were salvaged and re-used to keep the roof in fitting with the character of the property and surroundings. We laid the stone slates turned them over to give the roof a fresh look, and utilised natural Brazilian slates to the internal elevations which are not seen from the ground.
The horizontal valley gutters were re-lined with an EPDM rubber lining - a cost effective solution to the existing lead linings. Chimney stacks were lowered to make them safe, and re-pointed and all works were fully guaranteed and signed off.
